According to reports, Tokayev seized the ball in the complex and, as the country's media describe, scored a goal against a young athlete's net. However, it was later noted by some media outlets that the video was edited and the moment the ball reaches the net, the frame changes.

Online commentary on the video of Kazakhstan's president includes remarks such as, “he is such a good football player that he hits one ball while another enters the net.” Some also noted that the shot was so 'powerful' that the ball changed while in flight, stating, “even Ronaldo and Messi can't do that.”
