VIDEO: Armenia Ready to Restore Road Communications with Azerbaijan and Turkey, Says Pashinyan

Julya

During a ministerial meeting of landlocked developing countries, Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced Armenia's readiness to restore railway communications between Azerbaijan and Armenia using the previously existing railways.

He stated, "The first is the northern route that connects Azerbaijan's Gazakh region with Armenia's Tavush province, while the second is the southern route that links western regions of Azerbaijan with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic. We believe that western regions of Azerbaijan can also connect with the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and the outside world via the northern route," said the Prime Minister.

Pashinyan emphasized that this willingness has been officially communicated by Armenia. "Next, it concerns the highways that could operate along northern, central, and southern routes. This will open new opportunities for our region. Through the Peace Intersection, Armenia can connect and link other countries along the north-south and east-west axes," he stated.

The Prime Minister also noted that Armenia is showing the same readiness to reopen the Armenia-Turkey railway and to reconstruct and reopen the two highways that previously existed between Armenia and Turkey.
