“If Armenia Can Be a Good Neighbor, It Will Be Able to Preserve Its Sovereignty” – Aliyev

If Armenia can be a good neighbor, it will be able to preserve its sovereignty, said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev today. He characterized the foreign policy pursued by the Armenian authorities as chaotic and stated that in order to achieve peace, the Armenian government must have the will.

“The government of Armenia is chaotically moving from one extreme to the other. They believe they can save themselves, but it won’t work. They will just acquire another 'big brother.' And will that new 'big brother' be better than the previous one? Let’s be honest, it won’t be. The new one is far away, not that close to the region, and is not so connected to the 'younger brother' and pushes its political interests, and perhaps personal ambitions and ideas forward. Armenia must at least express its will. This is the first necessary condition for peace,” Aliyev stated.
