Mariam Z.

Ms. Mkrtchyan, the most important part of my speech is precisely directed at you. If you feel it, I am not addressing you as Anna, but rather as Ms. Mkrtchyan.

This was stated today by the Vice President of the National Assembly, Hakob Arshakyan, during remarks in the parliament regarding the speech by Anna Mkrtchyan, a member of the ‘I Have Honor’ faction, who addressed the Prime Minister by name twice.

“I want to express my respect for your voters and for the parliament. I must ask that in your speeches, you address the head of state, the Prime Minister of Armenia, Nikol Pashinyan, as Mr. Prime Minister or Mr. Pashinyan, and refrain from addressing him by name. By doing so, you will show respect for the parliament and the citizens of Armenia. Next time, your speech will be interrupted, and any deputy's speech will be interrupted if you act in such a manner, and I will not tolerate your disrespectful behavior here,” he said.
