Requirement for Round Stamp 'Exit Visa' on Passports to Be Abolished Starting January 1, 2024, As per the Ministry of Foreign Affairs

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has issued an announcement on its official Facebook page, stating: "We remind you that according to the decision No. 1604-N of the Armenian government dated September 22, 2023, the Migration and Citizenship Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia will start issuing regular (non-biometric) passports without the notation of validity in foreign countries effective January 1, 2024.

Starting January 1, 2024, regular (non-biometric) passports will continue to be considered valid in the territory of the Republic of Armenia and in foreign countries for the duration of the validity period indicated in the passport, regardless of the presence of the notation about validity in foreign countries (round stamp and date) on the 4th page of the passport.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia has officially notified the competent authorities of foreign states about these changes. In practice, it is possible that border control staff at certain border crossing points in some countries may not yet be adequately informed about these changes. In such cases, Armenian citizens can use the following links from the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Armenia as official proof of the abolition of the requirement for the notation of validity in foreign countries.

Earlier, we reported that starting January 1, 2024, Armenian citizens will no longer need an exit visa in their passports when leaving the country.
