Fire in Dilijan National Park

Fire in Dilijan National Park

On December 4, information was received about a fire that broke out in the 3rd compartment of the Dilijan National Park.

Rescue services that arrived at the scene determined that an area of approximately 3 hectares, located in the most inaccessible and rugged part of the national park, was ablaze with underbrush and wooden debris. Despite the difficulties in firefighting efforts caused by increasing winds, all measures are being taken on-site to prevent the further spread of the fire.

A total of 102 rescue workers and 28 employees from the Dilijan National Park are currently engaged in the firefighting operations, which are being overseen by the Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations, Colonel Kamo Tsutsulyan.
