Major Accident Involving Vehicle Servicing Spitak Mayor
On December 1, a major accident occurred in the Lori region. Around 10:30 AM, the vehicles driven by 60-year-old Aramais Avetikyan, operating a Lexus, and 38-year-old Erik Margaryan, driving a Volkswagen, collided on the 6th kilometer of the Vanadzor-Spitak highway.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamsyan, as a result of the accident, the drivers and passengers involved—Erik Margaryan and his passenger, 58-year-old Anahit Margaryan, both residents of the Lori region, along with Aramais Avetikyan and his passenger, Haik Sisakyan—sustained injuries and were transported to the “Spitak” Medical Center.
First responders at the scene included citizens and emergency personnel from the Spitak firefighting and rescue unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Armenia.
A criminal case has been initiated by the Spitak investigative department regarding the accident. According to G. Shamsyan's reports, the Lexus is registered to the Spitak municipality as a service vehicle and is used by Spitak Mayor Kajair Nikoghosyan.
