Israeli Authorities Deny Entry to UN High Commissioner

Israel has so far denied entry to the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, preventing him from accessing the country, Gaza, and the West Bank during his planned five-day visit to the region.

“Such a visit is vital for the independent verification of numerous allegations raised during this conflict. It would help combat misinformation,” stated Ravina Shamdasani, a spokesperson for the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Office, during a press briefing in Geneva.
