UN Security Council Holds Meeting, Calls for Strengthened Actions to Resolve Middle East Issues
The international community must intensify its efforts in the coming weeks to resolve the Middle East issue, involving Israel, the Palestinian Authority, and other regional countries. This was stated by Tor Wennesland, the UN Special Coordinator for the Peace Process in the Middle East, during a meeting of the UN Security Council, as reported by RIA Novosti.
“When the conflict ends, it will be impossible to put an end to violence and create a new reality without an effective political and security framework,” Wennesland said in his online speech at the Security Council meeting. He emphasized that, in the coming weeks and months, the international community must engage in negotiations with Israel, the Palestinian Authority, and regional partners to develop a constructive and practical political solution.
