A Supercomputing Center for Artificial Intelligence to be Established in Armenia
A supercomputing center for artificial intelligence will be established in Armenia. This was announced by Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly Hakob Arshakyan on his Facebook page.
The funding for the center will amount to 3.5 billion AMD (approximately 8.5 million USD). It will be the first of its kind in our region and will be based on the most advanced technologies.
This project is the realization of a priority documented during a meeting on the 21st of October in Yerevan between Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan and Jensen Huang, the founder and CEO of NVIDIA.
As the Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly, I have proposed to include the program for the supercomputing center for artificial intelligence in the draft law on the 2024 budget, which was recently approved in the Government session and will soon be discussed in the National Assembly,” Arshakyan stated in his post.
Arshakyan added, “I would like to thank all those individuals, scientists, entrepreneurs, and government officials who participated in the preparatory work for this project.”
