Is the Situation at the Upper Lars Checkpoint Politically Motivated? Simonian Responds
I do not rule out that the situation at the Upper Lars checkpoint may be related to political motives, but I urge you not to jump to conclusions and make such assumptions.
This statement was made by the Speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Alen Simonian, during a briefing with reporters in response to a question regarding whether the issue related to the passage of Armenian freight trucks at Upper Lars has political reasons.
“I do not see such an implication. According to my information, there has been a rotation of the operating bodies at that checkpoint (referring to Upper Lars). I do not rule out that the situation at the Upper Lars checkpoint may be politically motivated, but I ask you not to rush to conclusions and make such assumptions,” Simonian stated.
It is worth recalling that earlier we reported that thousands of Armenian freight trucks are waiting in line at Upper Lars. The checkpoint is closed.
