"A Unified Air Defense System has been Effectively Established within the CSTO" - Shoigu
The member countries of the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) have effectively created a unified air defense system (ADS). Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu stated this during an interview with journalist Pavel Zarubin on the "Russia 1" television channel.
According to him, Moscow has already signed relevant bilateral agreements with each state, including Belarus, Armenia, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, and Kyrgyzstan.
"There is a united air defense system in the CIS. In the CSTO, it has been effectively established. If you need to formalize it, we will formalize it. However, we have bilateral agreements with each of the CSTO member states, and the system has been created through these bilateral agreements," Shoigu clarified.
Currently, the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) includes six countries: Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Tajikistan.
