US May Impose Sanctions on Turkey for Cooperation with Russia: Bloomberg

Next week, U.S. Deputy Treasury Secretary Brian Nelson will visit Turkey to discuss American sanctions against Russian organizations, according to Bloomberg, citing its sources.

According to the agency's information, the deputy secretary will urge Turkey to adhere to U.S. sanctions against several Russian organizations and Hamas's financial activities.

Previously, Washington had imposed sanctions on about a dozen Turkish companies and certain individuals for aiding Russia in circumventing restrictions. It has been noted that the U.S. has warned several Turkish companies about potential sanctions that could disrupt their ties with the Western financial system.
