Russia Ready to Collaborate with Turkey in Small Nuclear Energy Sector: Novak

Russia sees prospects for collaboration with Turkey in the field of small nuclear energy. According to TASS, this was announced by Russia's Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak during a meeting of the intergovernmental commission on trade and economic cooperation between Russia and Turkey.

“We are ready to continue cooperation in the field of small capacity nuclear power plants,” he stated. He emphasized that energy is a key direction for cooperation between the two countries, with Russia supplying Turkey with a stable flow of energy resources.

Novak added that Russia and Turkey have good cooperation prospects in nuclear medicine, the production of items made from rare metals, composite materials, and energy storage systems based on lithium-ion batteries, as well as in technologies for water purification and waste incineration. Joint projects are also being discussed in the metalworking, automotive, light, and chemical industries.
