This is merely a short pause after which military operations will continue in 'intensive mode': Israeli Defense Minister
Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant referred to the upcoming ceasefire in the Gaza Strip as a 'short pause,' after which military operations will resume in 'intensive mode' for at least another two months.
'This will be a short pause, after which intense battles will continue, and pressure will be exerted to return more captives. Expect at least another two months of fighting,' Gallant said.
It was previously reported that the humanitarian ceasefire for the release of Hamas captives in the Gaza Strip will be postponed until November 24, although November 23 was scheduled. A source from CNN stated that the reason for the delay is that Israel has yet to receive the names of the first hostages to be released by Hamas.
The Israel Defense Forces noted that this process is complex and will occur in several phases.
Hamas and Israel have agreed to a four-day ceasefire in the Gaza Strip in exchange for the release of 50 Israeli hostages held in Israeli prisons and 150 Palestinian women and children. The intermediary for this agreement is the Red Cross.
