NATO Expresses Desire to Create 'Military Schengen'

The head of NATO's Joint Logistics and Support Command, Alexander Solfrank, has expressed his desire to create a 'military Schengen', which would enable the armed forces of member countries to move freely. This comes as NATO forces face obstacles due to various national regulations when transporting personnel and ammunition. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

Solfrank stated that he would like to see a 'military Schengen' established as a zone for free military transit. He also added that it is necessary to prepare a 'platform' in advance for potential military operations in case Article 5 of NATO's collective defense charter needs to be invoked.
