BHK Comments on Video Broadcasted by Public TV Regarding Tsarukyan's Assets

The head of the Prosperous Armenia Party's staff, Iveta Tonoyan, commented on the Prosecutor's decision regarding the confiscation of party leader Gagik Tsarukyan's assets.

In response to various media inquiries about a video aired yesterday on Public Television and subsequently spread by several other media outlets, she noted, "I can state that the aforementioned video was exclusively a genre of public disinformation and nothing more. Regarding the confiscation of property of illegal origin, I have the opportunity to say that there is a law, there is a legal process, there is a legal team, and there is a willingness to provide exhaustive answers to all questions. In this context, the preparation and dissemination of such a video is merely a way to distract public attention."

Tonoyan added, "It is a remarkable coincidence that similar plots aimed at diverting public attention are prepared precisely during a period of our country’s genuine complex agenda and escalation of risks." She also pointed out that within the same plot, there is a formulation stating that Gagik Tsarukyan started engaging in business in the 1980s. "Just this thought is enough to put the credibility of other arguments presented in the video into doubt."

Regarding the progress of the case, she mentioned that the legal team is studying the materials and that reputable lawyers from abroad may be involved in the process if necessary."

It is important to note that the Prosecutor's Office is contesting the legality of Gagik Tsarukyan's assets. The Anti-Corruption Court has accepted the claim for the confiscation of illegal property concerning Tsarukyan, his family members, and four other connected individuals. The Prosecutor's Office is demanding the confiscation of billions of drams, more than a hundred movable and immovable properties, as well as shares and stakes in 39 companies on behalf of the state.
