An armed incident has occurred at the Iran-Azerbaijan border. This information has been reported by the State Border Service of Azerbaijan, and is being conveyed by Azerbaijani media.

The incident took place in the vicinity of the village of Amirzeyidli in the Beylagan district, specifically within the service area of the Horadiz border detachment. Two unknown individuals attempted to cross into Iranian territory. Border guards noticed they were armed, and one had an additional load.

The individuals did not comply with the order to stop at a border checkpoint and opened fire, discarding their load before fleeing back into Iranian territory. Azerbaijani border guards inspected the load and discovered and confiscated a total of 95 kg 100 g of narcotics (10 kg 100 g of methamphetamine and 85 kg of opium).
