Details on the Explosion at Yerevan State University

An explosion has occurred at Yerevan State University. At around 9:40 AM, the National Center for Crisis Management of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Armenia received a call reporting a fire in one of the university's buildings. As of now, there are no reports of casualties or injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Reports indicate that the explosion took place in the Chemistry Faculty. There is at least one fatality and several injuries.

Photoreporter Gagik Shamshyan reports that six firefighting crews have arrived at the scene. Officers from the patrol service of the Yerevan City Police have also responded, cordoning off the area to prevent civilians from interfering with the work of firefighters and emergency medical personnel.

Three individuals have been transported to the hospital with burns, while firefighters conducted reconnaissance work inside, discovering one body. One member of the patrol service was poisoned by smoke while performing evacuation tasks.

In a conversation with Auroranews, the press office of Yerevan State University stated that they cannot provide information about the victims.
