Significant Amounts of Money Wasted: The Latest 'Target' is the IT Sector
The newspaper "Pahst" reports that there have been several occasions to address the issue of significant problems accumulated in the IT sector, and that serious discontent is growing. However, it turns out that the situation in this field is much worse than even experts represent.
Specifically, this was evidenced by the "Digitec" event held in October of this year, which was the poorest in the history of that technology exhibition. Moreover, as noted during those days, Nikol Pashinyan also did not participate, canceling his visit at the last minute due to some fears.
Now, our investigative colleagues have found that the government provided 10 billion drams in state support to companies in the information technology sector in December 2022. However, 14 of the companies that received support have temporarily suspended their activities, while 4 are in the process of dissolution. This means that significant amounts of money have been wasted, and there are opinions that there may be corruption risks involved.
In short, unfortunately, this government is also trying to destroy the IT sector, systematically dragging it into problems and scandals. Of course, there are many companies doing everything possible to maintain the system's traditions; moreover, some of them are among the top 100 largest taxpayers. However, overall, the state of the IT sector in Armenia is deteriorating increasingly.
