Peskov Responds to Pashinyan's Statement on Preparation for War with Baku

The press secretary of the Russian President, Dmitry Peskov, has commented on Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's remarks regarding Yerevan and Baku, as well as preparations for war. He stated that he is not familiar with these statements and emphasized that official declarations are being made about the readiness for a peace treaty. This information was reported by RIA Novosti.

Earlier, Pashinyan had mentioned during the session of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly in Yerevan that Armenia sees a danger of escalation due to Baku's proposal of a 'Western Azerbaijan' concept. He also added that Yerevan finds Baku's position unclear, especially regarding the refusal to return prisoners.

“Unfortunately, I cannot say anything, as I am not familiar with such statements at the state level from Azerbaijan. We have heard entirely different statements from the leadership of the country, which indicate the need for the conclusion of one stage and readiness to sign a peace treaty. Therefore, regarding Mr. Pashinyan’s statements in this respect, I can say nothing at the moment,” Peskov stated in response to a question about how the Kremlin received Pashinyan's declarations.
