The President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, visited Chișinău, where he met with the President of Moldova, Maia Sandu. According to Readovka, the Austrian president's visit did not go as planned when he decided to pet Sandu's dog.

The animal did not appreciate the gesture from the Austrian politician and bit his hand. At this moment, it is not reported whether the dog was vaccinated against rabies at the time of the bite, but footage shows that the Austrian leader's hand is bandaged where the dog had bitten him.

President Sandu herself apologized to her counterpart for the incident involving the dog.
