US Disappointed with Israel
American authorities are becoming "more and more disappointed" with Israel's actions against the Palestinian Hamas movement in the Gaza Strip, due to the increasing number of casualties and calls from the US to Israel, Bloomberg reports, citing its sources. This information is relayed by RIA Novosti.
According to the agency, officials in President Joe Biden's administration have intensified communications with Israel, engaging in "more and more complex discussions" with their Israeli counterparts, yet Israel is ignoring the calls from American authorities.
"The White House is increasingly frustrated with how Israel is conducting its war against Hamas, as the number of civilian casualties continues to rise, while the administration's calls are being overlooked, further exacerbating the division among close allies," the report states.
Agency sources noted that the US has repeatedly warned Israel about the necessity of protecting the civilian population, but Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has so far ignored US concerns regarding American citizens trapped in Gaza and the hundreds of Americans of Palestinian descent who cannot leave the territory.
When the US inquired about the Israeli strike on the refugee camp, "Israel's response has been almost dismissive, with the leadership stating that its objectives have been achieved," the publication highlights.
