“Armenian Security Council Secretary Announced He Could Not Attend, Later We Learned He Met with US State Department Advisor”: Zakharova

The Secretary of Armenia's National Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, was scheduled to participate in a meeting of the Security Council Secretaries of CIS countries in Moscow but declined, opting instead to meet with the senior advisor for South Caucasus issues at the US State Department. This was announced today by Maria Zakharova, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, during a press briefing.

“However, later he stated that he could not attend due to a change in his schedule. Yet, we learned afterwards that he met with the US State Department’s senior advisor for South Caucasus issues in Yerevan. You can draw your own conclusions from this,” Zakharova remarked. “Despite this, Armenia was represented at the event at the level of its ambassador in Russia and participated in the meeting,” she added.
