Are Prosecutors Being Dismissed Early to Avoid Receiving Pensions? "Hayots Ashkharh"

According to "Hayots Ashkharh" newspaper, alarming reports have come from the system of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia, alleging that Prosecutor General Anna Vardapetyan is dismissing prosecutors who are nearing retirement prematurely, in order to prevent them from receiving pensions.

Specifically, there are prosecutors in the system who still have 5-6 months until their retirement, yet they have already been relieved of their duties.

The Prosecutor’s Office was approached for clarification, to which they responded: "There are no dismissals from the Prosecutor’s Office for the purpose mentioned by you. If there are dismissals (which the Prosecutor General’s Office always informs about), they occur exclusively on the grounds stipulated by the ‘Law on Prosecutors.’"
