No Jews Were on the Airplane Arriving in Makhachkala from Tel Aviv, Says Israel's National Security Council
No Jews or Israelis were aboard the airplane flying from Tel Aviv to Makhachkala, according to a statement from Israel's National Security Council.
The National Security Council, along with the offices of the country’s Prime Minister and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, issued a joint statement indicating that Israel is monitoring the events occurring in Dagestan.
“Israel expects that Russian law enforcement will protect all Israeli citizens and Jews wherever they are and will act decisively against unrest and incitements directed at Jews and Israelis,” the statement reads.
It was reported that the National Security Council emphasized that the passengers on the airplane were citizens of other countries who were not ethnic Jews.
