France's 'Tonnerre' Aircraft Carrier En Route to Gaza Strip
France is sending the 'Tonnerre' aircraft carrier to the shores of the Gaza Strip. The ship left the port of Toulon on October 25 and is expected to reach the operational area by October 29, having recently arrived in southern Italy.
According to official statements, the French Navy's 'Tonnerre' will serve as a floating hospital and will arrive in the area by the end of the week, as announced by the country's Foreign Minister Catherine Colonna.
The Ministry of Armed Forces of France reports that the 199-meter long and 32-meter wide 'Tonnerre' is also a modular hospital capable of accommodating more than 60 beds, including 4 intensive care beds. Additionally, it has two operating rooms, a radiology office, and a dental office. Furthermore, the ship can transport up to 1,000 tons of cargo.
France has also deployed the 'Alsace' multi-role frigate in the Eastern Mediterranean, enhancing air defense capabilities.
