First Battle in Space: Israel Intercepts Missile Outside Earth's Atmosphere
The interception of a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis by Israel may have become the first battle in space in history. This is reported by the Telegraph.
It is noted that the ballistic missile was fired from Yemen and was heading towards the Israeli city of Eilat. The publication states, “This week, Israel has utilized its Arrow missile defense system to intercept a ballistic missile outside the Earth's atmosphere, which is considered the first battle in space in history.”
Additionally, this incident marks the first time that the Arrow missile defense system, jointly developed by Israel and the United States, has been used for its primary purpose: to intercept long-range ballistic missiles at high altitude and high speed.
