Is there an instruction from ‘above’ to use Nagorno-Karabakh instead of Artsakh? The Deputy Minister clarifies
The Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs, Arpine Sargsyan, stated during a press briefing with journalists that structural changes are already being implemented at the departmental level within the Ministry of Internal Affairs.
“Currently, we are in the phase of staffing. If you look at the projects in that regard, you will see that there will be an open and transparent competition in the form of interviews. The interviews will be conducted by a commission that will include representatives from both the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the anti-corruption specialists from the Corruption Prevention Commission, as well as non-governmental organizations,” she said.
Journalists asked the Deputy Minister whether there is an instruction from ‘above’ to avoid using the term Artsakh. “Clarifications have already been provided in this regard, stating that in international platforms, the terminology of Nagorno-Karabakh is much more accessible, and there is no problem here,” she noted.
