Boiling Water Kettle Accidentally Falls on One-Year-Old Child in Armavir Region
A one-year-old child has suffered thermal burns after a kettle filled with boiling water accidentally fell on them in the Armavir Region. The child was diagnosed with “1st, 2nd, and 3rd degree thermal burns on 13% of body surface area from boiling water” and was transported to a hospital.
An emergency incident occurred in the Armavir Region yesterday, October 25. At around 11:40 AM, the Vagharshapat division of the Armenian Ministry of Internal Affairs received a call from the National Burn Center that a child had been brought in with such severe burns.
According to photojournalist Gagik Shamshyan, an operational group from the Vagharshapat police division, led by the on-duty officer, was dispatched to the hospital.
The police determined that the injured child, Astghik A., was a resident of one of the villages in the Armavir Region. Following investigative measures by the police, it was revealed that, on the same day at approximately 10:30 AM, while in the kitchen of their home, the child accidentally overturned a kettle filled with boiling water that had been left on a low table by a parent, resulting in the burns.
Documents have been prepared regarding the incident at the Vagharshapat police division, and these have been forwarded to the Armavir regional investigative department of the Investigative Committee of Armenia, where proceedings have been initiated concerning the incident.
