Powerful Earthquake in Afghanistan Leaves Death Toll at 2400
The death toll from the earthquake that struck western Afghanistan on October 7 has risen to over 2400. This information was provided by TOLO News, citing an official from the Afghan government.
According to Mohammad Janan Saiki, a representative of the Afghan interim government’s disaster management ministry, more than 2400 people have been reported dead, with an additional 2000 injured.
It was noted that tremors registering between 4.7 and 6.3 in magnitude were recorded near the Herat region of Afghanistan, which is home to approximately 272,000 people.
