Medvedev: Armed Forces to Increase to Effectively Protect Russia's Independence and Security
The number of armed forces will increase to effectively protect the independence and security of the Russian Federation. Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation, announced that he will coordinate the efforts to replenish the armed forces under contract in 2024 at the direction of Vladimir Putin.
“The Supreme Commander has decided to continue the work to supplement the armed forces with contract servicemen in 2024,” he emphasized during a specialized consultation.
Additionally, Medvedev added that the number of military personnel will be increased, and the Russian army will be strengthened with additional resources to effectively defend the country's independence and security. “Next year, it is planned to form another army corps, 7 divisions, 19 brigades, 49 regiments, and 1 fleet,” the Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of the Russian Federation noted.
