Wagner Contractor Forced to Prove He Is Alive Through Court
A contractor from the private military company Wagner, who returned from the war in Ukraine, was forced to prove in court that he is not dead. His hometown even erected a monument in his memory.
According to 'Siberian Express,' a resident of the Kabansky District in the Republic of Buryatia, whose name has not been disclosed, joined Wagner and went to Ukraine, where he was injured in May 2023.
After undergoing treatment in the hospital and being discharged, the man reestablished contact with relatives, who informed him that he was considered dead and had been buried. Furthermore, a memorial complex had been opened in his hometown for participants who died as a result of the Russian invasion of Ukraine, which included his surname.
The contractor contested the act of his own death in court. To confirm the man's identity, testimonies were provided by his relatives. Additionally, the Kabansky District Court's press service stated that 'fingerprints were needed from the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs database.' As a result, the Wagner contractor was able to invalidate his death certificate.
