There is a Database of Remaining Monuments in Artsakh: French Minister of Culture

France has funded the ALIPH association, which deals with the preservation of historical and cultural heritage, to collect data on the current state of the cultural heritage remaining in Nagorno-Karabakh. This was stated by the French Minister of Culture, Rima Abdul Malak, during a joint press conference at the Mesrop Mashtots Institute of Ancient Manuscripts with the Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia, Zhanna Andreasyan.

“With the funding provided by France, the ALIPH organization has been able to identify the remaining monuments in Artsakh using satellite imagery. A database of this information is already available. We have images depicting the current state of the remaining monuments in Artsakh, that is, the distorted condition of the cultural samples,” said the French Minister of Culture.

According to the minister, France is cooperating with UNESCO and European countries to address this issue and has already submitted a request to UNESCO so that the organization can obtain permission for its members to physically visit these areas and identify all cultural samples that are of Armenian origin.
