List of Universities for Displaced Students from Artsakh to Continue Their Studies
The Higher Education and Science Committee of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia has released a list of higher education institutions (both bachelor's and master's) where students forcibly displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh after September 19, 2023, can continue their education. This information was provided by the Public Relations and Information Department of the Ministry.
According to the report, the Armenian government, by decision No. 1762-L dated October 12, has established the procedure for granting scholarships for the full or partial reimbursement of tuition fees for students displaced from Nagorno-Karabakh after September 19, 2023, for the 2023-2024 academic year. The maximum scholarship amounts are set based on educational programs or degrees.
The list includes the maximum scholarship amounts by educational programs and the tuition fees for the same educational programs across various state universities for the 2023-2024 academic year, categorized by specialties. The tuition fee for master's programs in the listed universities cannot exceed 560,000 drams, while for bachelor programs, it is capped at 700,000 drams. The maximum scholarship amounts have been calculated based on the average values of the approved fees from all state universities providing education for that program, including branches.
It is stated in the announcement that for certain educational programs, the established scholarship amount is lower than the tuition fee set by some universities for that program. In such cases, the student may choose to enroll in another educational institution offering the same program or a regional branch (which would also alleviate living expenses) or may cover the difference with their own resources. If the educational program studied in Nagorno-Karabakh is not listed in the published list, the student can continue their education with a related educational program.
The Ministry of Education and Science has presented the tuition fees for state universities of Armenia offering bachelor’s programs with in-person and remote education for the 2023-2024 academic year.
