Armenians in Artsakh Ordered to Burn Military Records

Starting September 19, Azerbaijan launched a large-scale attack against Artsakh, targeting civilian infrastructure and peaceful residents. Both civilians were killed and injured in the assault.

On September 20, the authorities of Nagorno-Karabakh accepted a proposal from the command of the Russian peacekeeping mission regarding a ceasefire, after which forcibly displaced citizens were transported from Artsakh to Armenia. This relocation occurred under pressure.

Numerous videos surfaced on the internet, showing that Azerbaijani authorities were using threats of violence to compel the Armenian residents of Artsakh to act in certain ways.

The newspaper 'Zhoghovurd' reports that, according to information it has received, Artsakh authorities have instructed all those who served in the Defense Army to burn their military records before crossing the border to avoid possible unpleasant situations. Specifically, they have been warned that if they encounter a soldier near the Hakari Bridge, they could be captured, prompting many former and current servicemen from Artsakh to burn their military books in large numbers.

This information has been confirmed in conversations with several Armenian residents of Artsakh, whose names are withheld for safety reasons.
