VIDEO: Avinyan on Arthur Chakhoyan Incident
The Mayor of Yerevan, Tigran Avinyan, was asked by journalists for a comment during a press conference regarding the incident involving Arthur Chakhoyan, who was assaulted yesterday.
“Honestly, I learned about this incident only this morning from social media. My information about the matter is limited to what I have read online. I unequivocally condemn violence; however, as I am not familiar with the details of the specific case, I cannot provide a concrete comment. I personally do not understand what happened,” Avinyan responded.
It is worth reminding that activist Arthur Chakhoyan was assaulted yesterday. In a video posted on Facebook, Chakhoyan claimed that he was attacked by three individuals.
“Call the police right now, this guy attacked me with two others as he was going home; they beat me up, and this one has a knife nearby. Who sent you, was it Avinyan? Are you pulling a knife on me?” Chakhoyan stated.
