Aliyev’s Representative Demands ‘Corridor’ from Armenia

Armenia must ensure secure transport links through the ‘Zangezur Corridor,’ stated Elchin Amirbekov, the special representative of the Azerbaijani president.

At the same time, Amirbekov claimed that “the Armenians have misinterpreted what this corridor means for Baku.” According to him, the Azerbaijani side does not lay claim to these territories and recognizes them as sovereign Armenian territory.

“The question is how to ensure security there. According to the trilateral statement, Russian border guards were supposed to ensure the safety of movement. But now, it seems that Armenia is revisiting that obligation,” he added.
