David Babayan Arrested in Azerbaijan
Former Foreign Minister of Artsakh, David Babayan, has been arrested in Azerbaijan, according to Azerbaijani media outlets. The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has announced that Babayan will be detained for four months.
It was previously reported that David Babayan, who is included in Azerbaijan's "black list," had decided to leave Stepanakert for Shushi. "You all know that I am on Azerbaijan’s black list, and the Azerbaijani side has requested my arrival in Baku for an appropriate investigation," Babayan wrote.
He emphasized that failing to appear or, worse, fleeing, would cause serious harm to the long-suffering people of Artsakh, many individuals, and as an honest person, a worker, a patriot, and a Christian, he could not allow it.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijani border guards arrested former government minister and philanthropist Ruben Vardanyan, former commander of the Defense Army Levon Mnatsakanyan, and former deputy commander of the Defense Army David Manukyan while crossing the Aghtamar Bridge.
