Anahit Manasyan Meets with Displaced Persons from Artsakh in Goris and Kornidzor
The Human Rights Defender Anahit Manasyan is holding meetings with forcibly displaced persons from Nagorno-Karabakh in Goris and Kornidzor, according to a report from the Office of the Human Rights Defender.
"The Defender is conducting field fact-finding work, gathering detailed information. In particular, discussions have taken place with displaced persons at the registration point located in the Goris community, examining issues related to their registration and housing conditions. Numerous issues have been discussed with competent state bodies, and necessary solutions have been provided. The displaced persons were also given consultations regarding the protection of their rights," the statement reads.
Anahit Manasyan expressed her readiness to be consistent in addressing the raised issues within the scope of her mandate, noting that these matters would receive special daily attention, with an individual approach to the proper realization of everyone's rights.
The forcibly displaced individuals presented their major human rights issues arising from Azerbaijani aggression in their places of residence. A meeting between the Defender and the Governor of Syunik, Robert Ghukasyan, also took place in Goris, where the governor presented the ongoing efforts in the region regarding the acceptance of displaced persons. The Defender stated that the rights-related issues of these individuals are under her direct attention. Meetings were also held with representatives from other state bodies.
On the same day, the Defender visited the humanitarian center established in the field area of Kornidzor village in the Tegh community. Anahit Manasyan monitored the needs assessment process together with Kavita Belani, the head of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees office in Armenia, and talked with the staff, including healthcare workers.
