“Armenia has been and remains our very important ally, partner,” says Peskov

The press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, stated that Armenia has been and remains a very significant ally and partner, a close country to us.

“We also continue our communications with Azerbaijan; it is also a very important partner for us. We maintain our contacts with the Armenians of Karabakh as well,” Peskov said. He emphasized that despite the accusations, Moscow continues its communications with both Baku and Yerevan.

According to the Kremlin representative, currently, de jure conversations are regarding Azerbaijan's actions on its territory, which is why Russia does not accept the accusations against it.

“The Armenian side has recognized Artsakh as an inseparable part of Azerbaijani territory. Currently, all of this has significantly altered several provisions, and we do not accept these accusations against us, especially since there is a decision from the Armenian side recognizing Artsakh as part of Azerbaijan. De jure, we are currently discussing the actions of the Republic of Azerbaijan on its territory,” he added, stating that Moscow is also relying on trilateral agreements amid the crisis in the region.
