I Am Not Aware of Azerbaijan's Requested List. Difficult Decisions Await. Davit Babayan
The press reported that the Azerbaijani side has set a clear requirement before the Republic of Artsakh, demanding the provision of a list of individuals who have played significant roles in the establishment of Artsakh's statehood, including former presidents, generals, and war participants. In exchange for this list, Azerbaijan promised to provide a 'humanitarian corridor' for the Armenian population of Artsakh to leave the region.
In an interview with 168.am, Davit Babayan, an advisor to the President of the Republic of Artsakh and former Minister of Foreign Affairs, stated that he personally has no information on whether Azerbaijan has made such a demand. 'If Azerbaijan has requested the names of those who have made a significant contribution to the establishment of Artsakh's statehood, then they should demand the names of 120,000 people, because the entire Armenian population of Artsakh has greatly contributed to the establishment of the region,' Babayan noted.
Regarding the current situation in Artsakh, Babayan said, 'People are gradually returning to their homes, but the cessation of hostilities is not a solution to the issue, as difficult decisions are expected ahead.' When asked whether he meant that the difficult decisions refer to Artsakh's incorporation into Azerbaijan, Babayan responded, 'Such decisions should not tarnish the honor and dignity of the nation.'
