"We Have Not Received Any Information From Our Russian Partners" - Pashinyan

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has issued a statement regarding Azerbaijan's military aggression in Artsakh.

Pashinyan announced that he has convened a Security Council meeting to discuss the current situation: “It was strange and puzzling for us to hear that Azerbaijan informed Russia about the start of these actions. Of course, this is Azerbaijan's version, and I want to draw attention to this. But the fact is that we have not received any information from our Russian partners,” he said.

Pashinyan stated that the situation cannot be described as unpredictable since the escalation was visible. He emphasized that Azerbaijan has initiated an operation against the Armenian population of Artsakh aimed at ethnic cleansing: “First, the Russian peacekeeping forces must take action, and secondly, we expect the UN Security Council to also take measures.”

He noted that there are comments attempting to link the events to certain decisions made by Armenia. “Armenia has not given anyone a mandate to carry out ethnic cleansing in Artsakh, and our constant concern has been and continues to be the protection of the rights and security of the Armenian population of Artsakh. This has always been on our agenda,” he concluded.
