Azerbaijan Wants to Receive a Rejection from Artsakh Before Taking Concrete Actions, Abrahamyan Says

Azerbaijan has taken a rejectionist stance towards proposals from mediating countries regarding the humanitarian situation in Artsakh, and is evidently steering the situation towards a clash. This was stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the "I Have Honor" faction, on his Facebook page.

The potential launch of the Aknal-Askeren-Stepanakert and Goris-Stepanakert routes, as well as Azerbaijan's approaches regarding them, merely serve as a means to create an external backdrop.

In reality, Azerbaijan wants to receive a rejection on some issue from Artsakh, regardless of its specifics, and then proceed with concrete actions. The latest Russian initiative, which was the most compromise-oriented in recent months, whether good or bad, acceptable or unacceptable, is being sabotaged by Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijan is effectively refusing to negotiate, and if there are no external pressures in the coming days, perhaps even within hours, events will shift into a severe phase.
