Political Tensions Rise in the Republic: Artsakh's NSS Ready for Decisive Actions
In response to threats aimed at overthrowing the constitutional order, the National Security Service (NSS) of Artsakh is prepared for decisive actions. This was stated in a message released by the NSS of Artsakh.
The announcement noted that the upcoming presidential elections in Artsakh have led to increased political tensions within the republic, which various political forces are attempting to exploit by calling for rallies and protests to destabilize the situation.
“We call on representatives of political forces and individuals who proclaim to lead the country into turmoil to be sober and not endanger our statehood during this critical and urgent moment for the Republic of Artsakh,” the message stated.
Meanwhile, the NSS has urged Artsakh citizens to resist provocations, remain calm, and exhibit high civic awareness.
It is worth mentioning that on September 1, Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan submitted his resignation to the National Assembly. Earlier, in July, the National Assembly passed a law stating that in cases of martial law, the president of Artsakh can be elected by the parliament. Before resigning, Arayik Harutyunyan appointed Samvel Shahramanyan as the Chairman of the State Minister, relieving Gurgen Nersisyan of his duties.
