Ukraine Never Been Closer to Joining NATO, Says Stoltenberg

Ukraine has never been closer to joining NATO than it is now, declared NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during a joint session of the European Parliament's foreign affairs, defense, and security committees.

Earlier, Dmitry Peskov, press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation, stated that the Kremlin had heard President Vladimir Zelensky's request regarding Ukraine's membership in NATO. He noted that Moscow is closely monitoring the situation and remembers that Kyiv's alignment with the alliance was one of the reasons for the onset of Russia's special operation in Ukraine.
