Criminal Case on Violence Against Parents of Fallen Soldiers in Yerablur Will Be Closed
The criminal proceedings concerning the forcible detention of parents of soldiers who died in the 44-day war at the Yerablur military pantheon have been dormant for several months. Advocate Vahan Hovnanyan, representing the parents, does not rule out that the proceedings may soon be closed.
In an interview with the news outlet, Hovnanyan stated that the case is currently stagnant. At least no actions involving their participation have been conducted or are planned. In the lawyer's opinion, the criminal proceedings are heading towards closure.
It should be noted that police had previously forcibly detained parents of soldiers who perished in the 44-day war at the Yerablur military pantheon, taking them to police stations and releasing them several hours later. The parents had reported that they had been at Yerablur since the night before to prevent Prime Minister Pashinyan and his allies from entering the pantheon. Before the Prime Minister's arrival, the police attempted to clear the way and detained mothers who were blocking the street. They claimed that the police had forcibly pulled them away during the detention.
