Ukrainian Intelligence Uncertain About Prigozhin's Death

The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine can confirm the death of Wagner commander Dmitry Utkin in the plane crash on August 23. However, the confirmation of Yevgeny Prigozhin's death requires a bit more time. This was stated by Andrei Yusov, a representative of the State Administration, in an interview with Ukrinform.

“For now, we can speak 100 percent about the confirmed deaths of Utkin and several other passengers. As for Prigozhin, let’s say that not all questions have been resolved yet. Regarding the organizers, let’s consider who else this could benefit. Everything here is fundamentally quite obvious,” he said.

The intelligence representative explained that to confirm Prigozhin's death, “we need to wait some more time.”

It should be noted that on August 23, a plane crashed in Russia's Tver region, carrying 10 people, including Prigozhin and the leadership of the Wagner PMC. All of them died. Only on August 27 was Prigozhin’s death officially confirmed. The founder of Wagner was buried on August 29 in one of the cemeteries in St. Petersburg. Aside from relatives, only the closest friends attended the funeral ceremony.
