Is There Public Transport in Yerevan That Can Match the Capacity of the Cable Car?

Davith Margaryan, a candidate for the City Council from the 'Living Country' party, has addressed the potential of one of the party's proposed projects — a cable car system — on his Facebook page. The average transport cable car line can transport at least 1500 passengers in one direction per hour. To achieve the same number of passengers, approximately 28 MAN buses, each with a capacity of 55 seats, would be needed. This means that a bus would have to arrive at a stop every 2 minutes to transport 1500 passengers in one hour, in one direction. EVERY 2 MINUTES, ONE.

Now a question (rhetorical): Is there any public transport in Yerevan that has such passenger transfer capacity? How many MAN buses would need to be imported and filled into the streets, taking away traffic lanes just to come close to this figure? I find it pointless to even discuss comfort.

When you try to evaluate a system about which you have no idea, and your so-called 'reform' consists of simply buying buses without even organizing the routes intelligently, you have to be somewhat careful with your choice of words. Because every word you say works against you, demonstrating the bankruptcy of your management thinking and the inability to pursue real reforms.

If you do not know what to do, we not only know what to do, but we also know how to do it.

To be continued.
