What Unblocking, If There Is No Stability and Peace: Mher Grigoryan
There are no agreements for the next meeting of the Deputy Prime Ministers of Armenia, Russia, and Azerbaijan. This was stated by the Deputy Prime Minister of Armenia, Mher Grigoryan, during a conversation with journalists today.
"Questions regarding the time and place are being discussed at the level of working contacts, but there are no agreements yet," he noted.
The last meeting of the trilateral working group, co-chaired by Mher Grigoryan, Alexey Overchuk, and Shahin Mustafayev, on unblocking transport communications in the region took place on June 2 in Moscow.
Currently, according to the Deputy Prime Minister, there are reasons for the process's stagnation. "No matter how we consider the issues of unblocking as mere unblocking issues, the overall background must be conducive. What unblocking is possible without stability and peace?" Grigoryan emphasized.
He added that unblocking is also a part of the peace process and it will only be applicable in the context of peace.
After the last meeting of the working group, it was announced that common understanding had been reached regarding specific steps to restore and organize railway communication along the Yerevan-Julfa-Meghri-Horadiz route.
Mher Grigoryan reaffirmed that there is mutual understanding and agreement regarding infrastructure and communications, but many questions regarding operation still remain.
